I have definitely always been at a disadvantage hitting on women, unless if it was on girls who were significantly shorter. I used to work at a gay bar though, and those guys were all over me. Haha. Girls like tall, dark, and handsome. I'm short, recessive, and cute. All the things they aren't into. Haha.
I have to comment on this...being 5'6" I ALWAYS got hit on by gay guys at the local bars during university. Me just being me, I'd never freak out and just calmly explain to them that I don't float towards that particular dirrection...and sure enough that somehow would place a stamp of approval on my forehead for all to see, and right afterwards some ridiculously hot girl that was friends with said gay guy would more or less introduce herself and then cling to me like I was some kind of celebrity. The whole notion that "it's a compliment for a gay guy to hit on you" is 100% true and always sparks one of their female friends, or any near by girl for that matter, to start chatting you up. It's strange but true, I guess it works on the principle of...feminine and picky gay guy sees something attractive in you, so she figures there's got to be something interesting there and it's her situation to take advantage of since you turned out to be straight.

I'll tell you one thing--you're better suited to stocking shelves than I am--most of us have to run for a ladder to get the top shelf, we have only one guy over 6 feet on our crew.
I would wager that you yourself exclude a lot of women when you do a search on Match.com. Exactly what boxes are YOU checking off? Body type? Hair color? Race? Religion? Age?
That's what people do, it only sucks when you yourself are getting the short end of the stick.

And truth be told, in my country of origin, average male height is like 5 4. That makes us giants, LMAO. It was one of the prime reasons I was readily pushed into playing hockey, I was easily the tallest player in my team, every time, except when playing against some north Indians where the turbaned Sikh guys tend to go as high as 6 feet.
