This tells me that you're choosing Very High Maintenance Women. Probably you go for the ones that look "hot"? There are tons of Real Good Ladies out there, but nobody's talking to them. Cast a wider net, and you may be surprised at the positive results.

Back in the good ol days when men supported the woman and children on his salary alone? Yeah, a man's salary meant nothing back then.

Well, back then a man working a job in a auto factory or any other blue collar job could make a respectable living for his family and himself. After companies dropped the cycle of virtue in favor of 90's "New Economy" theory, the majority of those jobs fled to China, India and other developing nations and that kind of lifestyle was gutted. Now it's renting shared rooms instead of houses and permatemp service jobs instead of steady employment.

All true. But that still doesn't mean those times were known for the guy being loved for just who he was, and not what he made as the poster seems to think. I still know of lots of blue collar jobs (locally refuse collectors bank 6 figures) where a good living can be made, but certainly not as much as in the past.

It's tough once college years pass. Women tend to head off into careers and hobbies that attract women and men do the same. Pretty soon all a lot of people are left with is very stilted and contrived social interactions with the opposite sex such as the bar scene, internet dating, and meet-up type stuff. Some people are lucky to have careers and hobbies naturally put them in front of a wider variety of people, but not everybody.

And... When women were basically under a man's thumb. Back when women couldn't do much without the backing of a man. When men were "men" and women were.....subservient.
Good times! ( who wouldn't like to go back there)? LOL

Very true. The OP is right on regarding the best way to meet partners is through friends.

Possibly, but if you're hanging out with the same circle of people that you know wont help you at all there you have to go out on your own and do stuff on your own and look for new people and situations.

Where are you located? I know two women that would love to go out on a date, have a relationship or get married but are having trouble even getting noticed to be asked out.
