I love going to clubs to dance and drink a little. My best friend hates it though. Not her thing. It's one thing we don't have in common. I don't think she's "weird" because she doesn't like going.

I have been to some bars and had a great time.....then others not so much. Depends for me the company I'm with, the mood I'm in. For example on vacation is when I mostly frequent them these days and nearly always have a good time. What is there not to like?
Going to somwhere you have never been or not been for along time, hot women, cool music, nice food and drink. I prefer if there is something going on to keep amused, other than just standing around. Eg karaoke, pool, big screen sports on tv, live bands etc.

No, they are not weird. But, there are weird people everywhere.

Why do you ask this question?

I see no problem with not going. There really are better things to do, IMO.

Agree!

I never go to bars (thankfully, none of my friends like bars), but I do go to clubs once every couple of months. I am ready to go home after about 2 hours though.

I don't think your weird if you like or don't like going to bars. Everyone has their reasons for wanting to go to one or not. If you want to have a few drinks, it's MUCH cheaper to have a few friends over and drink at home. The drink prices in bars in ridiculous compared to buying it yourself at the liquor store. If you want to dance than it may be fun to go to the bar unless they allow smoking than UGH... forget it,,, you come out of there wreaking and have to wash your hair 3 times to get the stench out.

Being that I very rarely drink: I have no use for bars, besides, till recently...........cigarette smoke was also a black mark against 'em.
