Again, I don't think the issue is about him being generous and thoughtful. It's about you not being so generous and thoughtful.
Snarky.

Though it is interesting how humiliated it makes you feel. You would be horrified to be in their subservient position just as I surmised. I am amused.
Women invented games. I don't hold it against them. I just observe them and, if desired, bypass them.
Oooops...different person being snarky.

I only read the first two, and neither give a clue to the why's.
Why is it you're participating in a thread but not reading people's post fully or looking at the links? Seems a bit of a waste of time to continue this conversation, that being the case.

Btw, chivalry doesn't appear to be dead in England, either, just because Dorrans tries to convince us so.
on spotting a gentleman, I agree with that article except for #2: let the woman pick the place.
It's been my experience that women would rather have a guy who can make a decision as women have a lot on their mind as it is when it comes to dating. I've even been thanked by women for taking charge and choosing a venue for a date rather than playing the "I don't carr where we go, where do you wanna go?" game.
It wasn't snarky. My position is clear. I don't get why the guy should be so generous financially during the initial stages while you wouldn't feel so generously inclined. It doesn't make sense to me...even if I would prefer similar.

I read the first two articles and you're giving me a hard time? Freaking ridiculous. None of it answers the question and if the question can't be answered so easily, then maybe the position is off. God forbid we actually stop and think about why we do the things we do. Can't have that.

I had mixed feelings about this one, too. It's a little tricky in my case, but in general I tend to agree with you.
paying the the meal is cheap its the drink tab that can get out of hand.
other than 1drink for dinner the gal that wants an open bar tab smoking is the gal not to date.
