shopping at the mall all the time
lunch dates
spending half my time in the beauty salon
fawning over men
getting all dressed up to go ***** myself out at a club
I wouldnt consider these hobbies. Do women actually have time to do this stuff?

There's nothing wrong with a man (or woman) having hobbies...it shows that they have a life!

Definitely true, but sometimes it can be a problem if the hobby is all-encompassing. A few years ago I hit it off with a guy at a friend's dinner party, and we could never get anything off the ground because he was an amateur musician and was always at rehearsals/gigs--our schedules never synched up. I completely respected that he had a passionate interest in something, but it just wasn't going to work.

Women may not spend so much time on hobbies because they are more social than men. They spend more time taking care of the home, and children if they have them, and dealing with family and spending time with friends. They work out to look nice for guys and spend time shopping for clothes and makeup to look nice for guys and working on their diets to look nice for guys. Lately men are even insisting they go for yet another trip to the salon to get their ****'s waxed up. Geez. Where is all this extra time to devote to hobbies?

Gudra, I read that book as an adolescent and it affected me in a way I can't quite describe. I tried others later, but I believe this is the best text on archaeology for the general public. I especially like how Zeren ties together history with the methods of archaeology and the lives and personalities of archaeologists.

I don't know that any woman has gotten a Brazilian wax to impress other women (how would other women even see/know?) but they certainly do because "my boyfriend likes it."

And I suppose that one portion makes the rest untrue?

I know LOTS of women who get Brazilian waxes because of bathing suit issues and because they heard about other women getting them.

NOW what, Fleetie? Where do we take that train of logic from here?

And I know lots of women who'd be happy with a simple bikini wax, but do get the Brazilian anyway because their husbands/boyfriends think it's sexy. It's just an internet discussion, Urban, no need to get all competitive.

A lot of guys raised on internet porn think any hair is gross and won't have anything to do with it. Women will say it's their choice but most didn't choose it until men started demanding it. Rather than competing they should tell the men to get bent and then find a nice hobby, like knitting or taxidermy.
