Anyone who takes something as genteel and simple as what Seeniorita said and twists it into this kind of negative platitude needs to learn some manners. It's neither forthright nor direct, it's needlessly, casually mean and dismissive. Perhaps you need to lay off correcting her and look to yourself a bit.
I wasn't correcting or attacking her. Just an observation about certain pursuits in life that are, in my opinion, wasteful and futile, even if "genteel". Every one of us should try to be a good person, and a good partner -- but dedicating one's life to sorting out someone's emotional baggage and disillusionment with life is a pointless enterprise, guaranteed to make one unhappy and drained. I think it's true for both men and women. What man would get angry at the proposition that he shouldn't dedicate himself to changing the worldview of a woman who claims to be disillusioned with men?
You also misunderstand me when you suggest that I am being rude. At most, I am being wistful. I try to take a detached and philosophical approach to life. It is my observation that human nature tends to dwell on the bad and take the good for granted, and that goes double for people who are holding a general grudge. They'll remember all the negative and ignore all the positive; tiptoeing around them is as tiring as it is fruitless. Ultimately, it's up to them to purge their own demons. No one else can do it for them, no matter how warm and fuzzy; not the least because misery is addictive.

Agree. Everyone, man or woman, owes it to themselves to find someone they are compatible with, and should not date someone because they think they can or need to fix or cure someone.

I love how they give driving directions, describing things you will see along the way.
I love how they are not judgmental, and will be there to lend a shoulder when you need it to cry on.

I love watching a woman let loose and not be afraid to laugh and be silly.
I love watching a woman play with the neighborhood kids, or kids' friends.
I love watching a woman walk her dog.
I love how they let you know what they are feeling.

I love how cooking isn't cooking, unless she shares what she makes with others.
I love how they offer you their 2nd half of a sandwich, everytime.

I love helping my neighbors carry heavy things to their front door, and how they think I'm some kind of saint for doing the simplest thing.

I love when they are argue politics from an emotional viewpoint.
I love the combination of confidence and humility.
