I've been thinking of something.

Women can be openly bisexual and men still want to be with them with few reservations. But if a man says he is bisexual (or even bicurious) women won't come anywhere near him (especially in the black community.)

Now I personally feel this is a double standard. I wonder why this stigma against bisexual men exists. I know the STDs play a role.

(Disclaimer: I'm a straight male.)

Yes, this is a pretty well-known double standard.

Because guys like the idea of two women together but women don't get turned on by the image of two men together.

Not true. I view gay porn exclusively, and as it turns out a large percentage of my female friends like gay porn too.

Really? Exclusively guy on guy? That's interesting. I'm pretty openly sexual and so are most of my friends and I don't know any women who watch male gay porn even regularly, much less exclusively. I'm not doubting you, I just find it interesting

It might be a regional thing. For instance there are shows on TV that are huge hits which I've barely even heard of, but are very popular in the middle of the country. And vice versa, there are shows on TV that I and my NYC friends love which my midwest friends have barely heard of. One isn't better than the other, but it really does seem that there are major taste difference between people on the coasts and people in the middle.

Yes, exclusively guy on guy. I will watch a clip with a woman in it maybe once a year, and it has to be really compelling and certainly amateur. Why gay porn? What's not to like? It's two guys, and they aren't faking being aroused. A fake female orgasm is the most boring thing in the world to me. Lately I've been into understall porn...

yeah I get you there, but I deal with it. I just have to be able to at least loosely picture myself in it. And if there's no lady parts, I can't do that! Plus I think porn guys look.. wierd.. more often than porn girls, I don't know why, because I know they are often very fake (bodies and orgasms). I watch porn with guys in it I'd say only about 30% of the time.*

*not 30% of the time in my day, 30% of the time I'm watching porn

Because physical male intimacy is frowned upon in the West in general society the only social space for male intimacy is the gay space which is a feminine space...In non-western countries men can hold hands
in public and still be considered masculine...it is not that they are dating its is that they are best or life-
long friends or just friends, it is a tribal thing..

It is the American cultural hysteria of being associated with the "gay social space"...

I'll join that club I won't watch male/female porn, either. I much prefer guy/guy. It's more exciting to me, I don't know.

But, the double standard doesn't hold true for my own feelings. I'm completely fine with any type of couple- I'm married (I'm a female, married to man).. but if I weren't, dating a bi-curious or bi-sexual man wouldn't phase me in the least, nor deter me from dating him at *all*.

That said, my 2 best friends are gay. (and engaged to each other). I also have a very close lesbian friend, and many bi-sexual. So, to me, it's ... nothing. Just life. That could be why it wouldn't phase me..

Be bisexual if you want. What is the point of this thread? To point out a double standard? Ok, some guys like that. The Sizzler doesn't like girl on girl action though. I guess I'm one of the few reservations??
