As to your question, Yes, the Baha'i texts do address this, I can't remember just which text it is, I think it is "Gleanings from the writings of Baha'u'allah" or "The Book of Certitude" not really sure of which one.
I thought you might like to look it up for yourself because I'd be just paraphrasing what it says.
It talks about the spiritual world as being here and intwined with the phyiscal world, in other words, it is not removed from this world as in a heaven being somewhere "out there". Spiritual beings (souls) that have passed on can have an impact on events in this world of existance.

My brother and I were pretty close and we made a childhood pack that one would come back to visit the other...it's been 18 years and I haven't heard or seen anything of him.
C'mon Joe! Channel me some winning lottery numbers or something.

Have you tried to contact him? There are quite a few techniques you could use. Have you heard of the "Psychomanteum?" (Not sure if that is the right spelling)?
Even if one believed there was life after to death, it's hard to imagine what mechanism would allow you to capture the electro-magnetic waves involved with light, especially if light can pass through you. When we are living we have eyes to fullfill this role, but how would a post-life person be able to see?

Have you ever used your imagination? Can you see with your "mind's eye?"

Using your imagination doesn't require the capture of waves in the electromagnetic spectrum. It only creates an illusion of what the backend of the process produces. It's not sight.
Sight is not all that mysterious. It's an amazing bio-egineering feat, but I don't know of a theory of how an invisible being would be able to capture those electromagnetic waves without eyes.
