You know when you're really tired and you go to bed and all the sudden you wake up and it's morning? That's what death is like except you don't wake up.
After you die is like before you were born. You don't exist anymore. You're dead. You don't magically float around with the other hundreds of billions of people who have lived on our planet for 10,000 years.

Exactly. That is how death is, and that is why I don't fear it (though I strongly prefer life). It's just an eternal nap.
imcurious: Surely you must realize that what one believes is inseparable from his answer to the question you asked. To pretend otherwise is disingenuous.
So you believe you will come back as a voyeur, and watch your children, or even your surviving spouse have sex with their new lover. That would mean that your dead parents come back and watch you.
No. Not at all.
First: we don't "come back" at all. We are on a totally different plane of Existence. A Spiritual, not a physical one.
Secondly: We are not "voyeurs" at all. No more than you are a voyeur when you're in your house looking out the window at your kids playing in the front yard.
Thirdly: We can observe Earthly happenings only when we wish to. Just as you will think about your ex-wife only when you wish to. And once we have attained the Next Level, by turning our thoughts to someone here on Earth we will then be able to view them as if we were back on Earth. So, no: most of us would probably refrain from watching our exes doin' the nasty.

I'm a tried and true hard-fact type of scientific person. I can, however, tell you that from personal experience, I believe that someone who has died can come back just for a minute or two, days after or send a quick message - then that's it. They have other tasks to accomplish, if there is life after death.
I felt my brother's and my father's presence each, just for about 15 seconds, one time after they each died. My father told me to tell his wife he was okay, and my brother "sat" behind me for about 15 seconds about a month after he died. This was 12 and 10 years ago; nothing since then. My stepmother cried when she heard my message about my dad, months later, since I felt foolish for even delivering it. But apparently she had prayed nightly asking for a sign that he was okay.
People might laugh, and that's okay, because being a person that technically doesn't even believe in life after death and is not a Christian, it seems a bit laughable to me also. But I know what I felt.

Interesting. Glad you shared it, despite your
"politics."
