People who espouse high moral standards are among the worst cheats, studies have shown. The worst cheaters tend to be those with high morals . . .

Understanding the 10 Most Destructive Human Behaviors | LiveScience

There are certain people who use their religion to separate themselves from the rest of humanity, sets them apart, makes them a step above everyone else. I believe this way of thinking opens the door for them to be huge hypocrites.

This little article is probably concerning anyone who thinks he is on a higher moral ground, though, including politicians (except Cory Booker ? ).

This is how I look at it. Anytime you point your finger at someone...you always have 4 fingers pointing right back at you.

We are all hypocrites to some degree. It's not just the religous folks that are guilty of being self-righteous. We ALL need to work on ourselves first and quit worrying so much about fixing everyone else.

Key word is those who "espouse". Just because I say I'm something, means nothing.

If I came up to you and said, "I'm a doctor" - what would you say? Would you merely accept it? Or would you request proof? Maybe a certificate from a reputable institution...a test of questions about information only a doctor would know...or for me to perform some of the acts a doctor would do? Would you evaluate me merely on my words or my acts?

Now, is it any different for a "Christian"? Just because they say they are "Christian", means nothing. They have to be evaluated by the standards set forth in the Bible. If they don't live up to it, why would you accept their word?

Why would I care if someone makes the cut for their own professed belief system?
