Are we waiting for God to do something in our lives?
Who are the we? I am not waiting with you. The other night my wife and I waited for a couple of hours for anyone to wash and dry the dishes but no one came and we went into the house and did them ourselves. I am guessing that this is not what you are asking about. I am also guessing you are asking about a specific god as well.
Yes I've been praying for him to make these threads stop.
Alas, more proof that he doesn't answer prayers.
God is clearly doing a work in us.
Romans 5:3-5 "Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
Reminds me of when Mother Teresa said this to someone in her care dying of cancer:
Quote:
Pain and suffering have come into your life, but remember pain, sorrow, suffering are but the kiss of Jesus - a sign that you have come so close to Him that He can kiss you.
To which the sufferer replied: Please ask Jesus to stop kissing me.
In the bible from Matthew 8 ``Now when Jesus had entered Centurion came to Him pleading with Him ``Lord my servant is lying at home paralyzed , dreadfully tormented ....... And Jesus said to him ``I will come and heal him``..........The centurion answered and said , ``Lord I am not worthy that You should come under my roof, but only speak a word , and my servant will be healed ..... For I am a man under authority , having soldiers under me ...And I say to this one `Go,` and he goes , and to another `Come ` and he comes , and to my servant `Do this`` , and he does it ......................When Jesus heard it He marveled, and said to those who followed ``Assuredly , I say to you I have not found such great faith , not even in Israel......... Then Jesus said to the centurion ``Go you way , and you have believed , so it be done for you ``.And his servant was healed that same hour ....`............................................ See this soldier Centurion was not waiting around for God to do something , where He commanded Jesus to heal His servant , and God accepted His request ......... Where by the sacrifice of the cross of Christ everything of Jesus belongs to the children of God as they just need to reach out and take it from God , never waiting around begging God for anything , as it is already theirs
