I've been told that the "personal opinion" of just about any past mormon leader is irrelevant. The LDS church seems to be trying to distance itself from some of the more outlandish comments of their early leaders.

Nothing wrong with keeping races pure. Mixing them only degrades both.
The quality of a person is not related to their race or features. This is a very shallow way to view people.
