One problem hurting Christianity is how in the USA it's become interwoven with far right politics and no longer resembles the faith of the 1st century. First century Christians were known for non violent pacifism, helping the poor, and living modest lives. Today's Christians in the USA are known for packing guns everywhere, looking for an excuse to shoot someone; deriding and mocking poor people, gluttony and obesity, and living in extreme wealth while refusing to share with poor people.
I agree. It is the very antithesis of the overall message of Judaic prophets and certainly Jesus.
A word of caution in reading too much into these results. This isn’t necessarily a harbinger of doom (for religious people) or delight (for secular folks). Only four-in-ten young adults enter college
Lmao..."nail in the coffin huh?"..lol
And of that 40% entering college, only 27% actually said they didnt believe in religion.

That's just entering. After they come out? We shall have to see. And -yes, we should not read too much into this, nor celebrate prematurely. However, 27% is a damn' sight better than the 8% that haunted atheism for many years and is desperately fiddled down to 6% by looking at global religion levels or dismissing agnostics, irreligious theists and 'nones' as somehow not being part of what is increasingly evidently going on.
