This is why if Christ really was the son of god, it would be pointless for him to come back. Nobody who believes in him would believe that he was really Christ, because they wouldn't agree with anything he said. This time, he'd be crucified by the Christians. I'd give him a life expectancy of about a week - two weeks tops.

Obviously the Op was trolling for a argument to make a hate speech.

The Bible. I am always amazed at how little the more fervent Bible believers seem to know about what is actually in their Bible.

Many of them only know the parts their pastor chooses to teach them - and even then they often only "know" the pastor's interpretation.

Answer the question, JJ. Your consistent God did and ordered some very inconsistent things. How do you explain that given your belief about His consistency???

A bit harsh . . . but it fits the OT descriptions very well.

Either you have not read the Bible you defend or you have serious reading comprehension problems if you do not recognize the OT descriptions of God in Trout's adjectives. How much DO you know about what is in the Bible you revere??

I have to say some good posts - by the believers. I expected evasion or attacks, but a lot have bitten the bullet. They failed to follow up on the implications - e.g that their innate sense of morality trumps whatever Jesus or indeed God, says. I'd agree with that!

Unfortunately the innate sense of morality has been corrupted by a religion and that is why the moral code cannot not be updated. Astonishingly the result is that faith in the religious dogma supersedes anything that the real God or Jesus might actually and personally say. An attitude that the gospel Jesus comments pretty freely on.

CalTrans could put up big signs saying "Jesus Ahead". "This Exit". "Shuttle Bus Parking". Jesus can tell them...and then they can all concentrate on minding their own business instead of interfering with the lives of people they don't even know.
if you are going to dream dream big! But you have presented the reason people "pick and choose "laws: so they can control according to their criteria. They would never acknowledge that there is only ONE basis for Christian conduct and that is the "new commandment."

He has already spoken. It's sinful. God doesn't change. What was immoral and sinful 2000 years ago is sinful today.
Maybe he will say the bible is wrong and he expected humans to have enough common sense to know what or what not the good old universe wizard would find acceptable .

Just curious.
Most people who are against gay marriage would want him crucified for being a false prophet.
