Extremely interesting find, but one that should drive our YEC nuts. They (at least the one at the "Creative" Science museum I visited) now agree that Neanderthals were humans. Great. Now what is interesting how much further back down the Hominoid evolutionary chain will they say that they are human. I know, they will say if it can breed with you, it's human.

Of course there will be a point when that will backfire on them, and that point will come when DNA can be extracted on older finds, especially Homo Erectus.

Scientists Say A Mystery Species Bred with Ancient Humans in Distant Past | Ancient Origins

""These DNA sequences are not present in the genomes of living Europeans or east Asians, suggesting that the ancestors of these people met and bred with a mystery hominin in south Asia or the Pacific region, who left their genetic legacy in the area’s present-day populations.

The unidentified hominin may be Homo erectus or “upright man”, says Bertranpetit. H. erectus is believed to be the first hominin with a similar stature to today’s humans, and the first to leave Africa."
One of our long lost cousins.

So they made up a story and you believe it by faith? You're that gullible?

No, nothing was made up, if you read the article. The study confirmed a previous study, consistent with the scientific method, that shows that early humans bred with another species. They admittedly don't know ( a quality about science that is unique from creationists) what the other species were. I'm sorry that it conflicts with your long-held beliefs.

They're not talking about the bible, Viz.

Did you follow the links to the science? You do understand how the science of DNA works, or do you?

Come on, Vizio, don't be throwing out these non sequiturs. I know you have more intelligence than that, so please don't dumb down to the level of some of the other apologists around here. I'd excuse some of them, maybe, for their lack of exhibited cognitive ability.

So, do you agree with the fundevanelistist who runs the Creative Science museum in my little village that Neanderthals are humans? Why or why not?

Are you one of those who slur African-Americans by calling them monkey's and beasts? I think I need a shower again.

I've never known hljc to hold to any opinion such as that.

But that view is consistent with what Darwin taught. He most definitely considered black people to be a lesser race.

Was Darwin a racist, and does evolution promote racism? - #DarwinDay (Hint ... No) - Skeptical Science

Read it if you dare. Here is Darwin's own words for instance:

Quote:
Fitz-Roy’s temper was a most unfortunate one. It was usually worst in the early morning, and with his eagle eye he could generally detect something amiss about the ship, and was then unsparing in his blame. He was very kind to me, but was a man very difficult to live with on the intimate terms which necessarily followed from our messing by ourselves in the same cabin. We had several quarrels; for instance, early in the voyage at Bahia, in Brazil, he defended and praised slavery, which I abominated, and told me that he had just visited a great slave-owner, who had called up many of his slaves and asked them whether they were happy, and whether they wished to be free, and all answered “No.” I then asked him, perhaps with a sneer, whether he thought that the answer of slaves in the presence of their master was worth anything? This made him excessively angry, and he said that as I doubted his word we could not live any longer together.

You're absolutely right, none of us are descendants of monkeys.

We are descendants of a common ancestor sometime in the past. The monkeys branched off one way, and us apes another. You do understand what DNA is, right? No belief needed. It is a fact.
