grab does have a point.

Cheery picking is the rational way of handling an incomplete text like the bible. Pick out the good parts and toss the parts left over from sandal wearing sheep herders that lived under a different set of conditions.

I don't know of one set of laws that when administered literally don't cause more harm than good.

If they were in paradise, there should not have been any such thing as pain.

I agree about the part that the universe is just "living the now" just like us. I also agree that it has more "nows" than we can ever conceive of in this human body.

I can't even conceive of the horror of being trapped in this body forever.
Lol.......The (((horror!)))
I can't stop laughing...
Luv ya, my buddy.

Can't be any worse than being trapped in erroneous damaging beliefs that shape our lives.

It's so funny...I take so little from the Bible, I see, after reading other posts.
I am more influenced by Shakespeare ! And The Gita, "Perceive Me in every thought."
And I take so little very seriously.
I mean, when you actually SEE it's all a dream made of dreamstuff, as
I did my 1st x at 8 yrs old, you see.....so you (I) watch yourself feel grief, you observe yourself fallng in love and so on
with the only thing real is God or this Consciousness that is everywhere...and you see you are creating
every event in your little proximity...the good, the bad and the ugly....way fun when ya 'get it' !

Good morning, pcamps. xxoo

I have ...quite a bit...just sayin...I think that may be why I don't 'use' the Bible to form much of my basis in my spiritual understandings.
Some, of course! Love, a loving God...trust Him...but the fairy tales told in metaphor or just from primitive, good intentioned,
supersticious thinking.. i just don't....take much from it, that is.

If you're willing to start a thread about your belief system, it might make for quite an interesting endeavor.

Aw, you care, you really care...
But, naw, I've spouted enough around here...most are sacred to me and it's hard to read irreverant pot shots taken.
Suffice it to say..there is a pervasive loving Being everywhere...trust Him, exp Him at all costs...and thus,
you will understand and love Him more than anything...there.
