Asexualgirl, welcome to the sacred circle and if you go to the very first post you will see how this works.
It was the dog post which lead me in this thread, thanks for the welcome Since I worship hair I think it is better for the circles peace that I try to keep myself away from it
ptsum, please tell me the roads are clear and it is going to be nice out this weekend in your part of the country.
About two weeks ago, as we were leaving our place (late, as usual), we found three puppies sitting on the side of the road.......apparently they had been set free by some *&$%@#*&$(&#@$&^ moron who never had the momma spayed. Anyway, we took them home (made us even later than usual), fed them (they went through half a ton of food) watered them (several gallons) and fixed them a place to sleep it off. The next day we took them to our vet to have him check them out and give them some shots and worm them. Over the course of the last two weeks we have posted pictures on a couple of forums that we post on (other than here) and two of them have homes to go to. One in Illinois, the other on Cape Cod. So Friday or Saturday this week I will be driving, in a quad cab dodge, to Cape Cod via Illinois with Annemieke, me, four Jack Russell dogs (our own overindulgence) and three pups........did I mention I have to be back in Oklahoma before Christmas?
The three pups......
This one is going to Illinois:
Anyhow, hopefully I won't get hit with another snow storm like I did last January.........
Wow, thank you Goodpasture for caring for the pups and finding homes for them. They are adorable and look like they're going to be good-sized dogs. I can't believe how some people just throw dogs and cats away like that.... just drive to a rural area and dump them. Grrrr!
Tonight there is an extremely rare phenomenon -- the simultaneous occurrence of (a) the full moon, (b) the Winter Solstice, and (c) a total lunar eclipse that can be seen anywhere in North America.
Here in Southern California there's gonna be 100% cloud cover and about 3 inches of rain.
It never rains in California,
But girl, don't they warn ya,
It pours, Man it pours!
-- The Mamas and the Papas
That was our problem too, 100% cloud cover to see the eclipse (Houston). No rain here though. It wasn't even really cloudy earlier in the day either.
You're in Southern California and you couldn't see it either? Sounds like you got one of those storms that come in off the Pacific this time of year. It would have been nice if the rain held off for a day or two so you could see the eclipse.

Asexualgirl, it makes not what you believe, it has more to do with how you treat one another regardless of that belief or non-belief, we are all children of the same circle and that circle being Mother Earth. You will always be welcomed here regardless of your belief. osay
Here I sit in a cheap motel on Cape Cod. All three pups have new homes. I am 1600 miles from mine though. Leaving on Thursday morning and hoping to get home by the weekend. Am getting ready to go get some seafood for lunch, then show a kid how to build a pinewood derby winner.
What is funny is that the waitress in the restaurant I am going to is a Yazzi.......apparently her dad is on the big rez.......so when I walk in I say ya ta hey and she grins like I am from the desert......
Thank you ptsum for the wonderful clear weather all the way here. It started snowing on us just as we crossed over onto the cape. And has been snowing ever since. I understand that wonderful rain Nighteyes is enjoying will turn to snow in a day or two when it hits the midwest. So it looks that although I could do 80 mph getting here, it may be a 40 mph trip back........thought about going south towards Virginia then going west through Tennessee......but that looks like the track that the storm will take.
Wishing you all the very best of this season and the promise of the new year. Stay safe, stay warm, stay in...........
Goodpasture I am so glad the pups all have a home now and I thank God for compassionate people like you with the animals and other people..Please be careful on the journey home.

It has been raining continuously here since Thursday, and I do mean continuously. The Jet Stream has dipped way south, and is channeling an enormous plume of sub-tropical moisture directly from Hawaii. They call it the "Pineapple Express." It has dumped record-breaking amounts of precipitation from San Diego to Lake Tahoe. Mammoth Mountain, a ski resort on on the eastern slopes of the Sierras, has gotten over 15 feet of snow in the last week.
Thunderstorms -- something pretty rare in SoCal -- are forecast for tomorrow. The rain probably won't let up until late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
Due to the clouds, I missed the eclipse.
Fullback, wonder pic, thanks. Goodpasture, have a safe trip. Ya can't say I didn't tell you about letting them learn to sit in your lap. My husband laughs at me every time I try to pry the setter over so I can see the tv. In my defense, he was a stray and I wanted him to feel at home. Asexualgirl, welcome to the circle.
