Wow. And you can say with any certainty that many of her decendants would not have been alive should she had chosen to stay in her native land and fight the injustices there?
If I remember correctly, it was you bellyaching because people were killed by those who were defending their homes, their way of life, and their culture. What do you think should have happened? That the Native Americans should have rolled over and given everything up? Stealing is ok as long as the end justifies the means? Can we get this passed into law? Have been watching a new movement called "Idle No More", a new movement has traveled around the world. It reminds me of the movement that I was involved with in 1976 called "The Longest Walk". We will Washington, DC from all over the country to stand up for the sovereign rights the native people of this land and now it looks like the Canadian Government is trying to do the same thing Washington, DC tried to do in 1976. It seems as though all the native people are now going to stand together and demand their rights according to treaty's.
Here is an interesting video by some musicians in Spain who've formed an acoustic group called Peltier. We received the story tip from a band member, who sent us this note: Hello, my name is Marcos, I am from Spain. I have a band named Peltier in honor of Leonard Peltier and I have made a song that talks about his freedom and a video using real images. I send to you the link because I would like to spread it. I hope you like it. Hug.Marcos.
