I think it's his British accent. He just sounds smart. Regardless of the drivel that he spews forth.

Atheists are deemed militant any time they dare open their heathen mouths and speak up for themselves.

Most likely. When his book, "The Power of Myth" was popular in the late-1980s, the Evangelical Christian craze was in full swing (Moral Majority, "family values" and all of that). I'm sure that Joseph Campbell was considered as demonic as Gary Gygax (AD&D creator) and Anton LeVay.

AT this point I would like to quote an old friend of mine, he said "there is one principle guaranteed to keep man in a state of perpetual ignorance, that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

yeah, years ago, a girl I used to date probably knew me better than I thought she did, for christmas one year she gave me the two volumn O.E.D. when stumped or not entirely sure, it is my reference of last resort, a dictionary I can not argue with. (I've seen cheap dictionaries that actually used connotations instead of definitions.)

So you think that's why Dawkins doesn't care to really look at the truth?

I'm not quite sure that Mr. Dawkins would consider mythology as truth.

Dawkins always manages to make creationists look like blind fools that they undoubtedly are.

When push came to shove, he was willing to suggest that life on earth started because some benevolent alien life form came from Mars to start it here. Sounds like a god to me.

At least that's what he told Ben Stein.
