Ok then, how about you demonstrate context for me then, in regards to the verses quoted by Artsyguy. Justify cooking and eating your children with context....Do you have children?.....Here are the verses in case you have forgotten.
Leviticus 26:29 'Further, you will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.
2 Kings 6:28 And the king said to her, "What is the matter with you?" And she answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give your son that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.'
2 Kings 6:29 "So we boiled my son and ate him; and I said to her on the next day, 'Give your son, that we may eat him'; but she has hidden her son."

In a nutshell, God tells the Israelites that if they obey His laws, they will prosper. If not (some had been worshipping idols), He will make their life so miserable they will resort to eating their own children to survive.
