Geert Wilders is a rather controversial figure in Europe. He espouses some radical views which happens to involve the hot button of Islam and Muslims. He is very vocal about that religion and how it is lived out by some of its followers. It appears he believes Islam is responsible for breeding some crazy behavior and he feels that Islam is a "Trojan Horse" in Europe. This is evident from some recent events that has taken place over there. Some Muslims are taking full advantage of the freedoms found in European countries to push for agendas that tie the hands of European governments or pits them against their historical natives.
His criticisms of Islam are considered "insults" by some Muslims who consider criticisms and insult synonymous. It appears they believe their religion is above reproach, criticisms or question and for anyone to say a bad word about it or their prophet (Muhammad) means such people are to be put to death (according to their religion) even in countries where there are no such laws respecting ANY religion's views.
To make matters worse (in Muslim eyes), he is both an atheist AND a friend of Israel. This sure does not ender him to Muslims so the saga continues as his life is under threat as the video below shows and these crazies are not shy about admitting what they will like to do to him for their religion.
I would go out there, show the world that they are cowards. Even if they manage to kill me it would be like cutting the dragons head off, 2 more grow back.
If they incited violence like they did here, in my country, we would deport them or throw them in jail.
As for those who wish to "respect" all beliefs, this is what you are running into.
Why not? These fanatics already killed the likes of Theo Van Gogh and were why Ayn Hirsi Ali left the Netherlands. Someone needs to grow a pair over there in Europe and tell them that they can either A) live by the secular laws of Europe or B) GO HOME!
