Traditional Christianity teaches that one must believe in Jesus or be condemned to an eternity of torment in "the next life"? How is believing in something to save your own "eternal skin" not all about you?

You see, Pleroo . . . that was your downfall . . . using reason and logic! God didn't give us reason and logic so we would use it. We are supposed to have faith in what our ancient ancestors believed, period. The clay doesn't question the potter (or the potter's representatives from antiquity, apparently).
