So the odds of winning anything aren't great. What are the odds of losing, lol.
Depends on the game. Keno is the worst (Other than the lottery) the Big Wheel is nex than roulette. Slots are poor odds, that's why there are so many slot machines in a casino. (They need slots to pay for the frills and thrills in, and around, the casino.
Blackjack and craps offer the best odds, (I don't know anything about baccarat, Gai Pow, 3 card games etc)
Gads, it's been a long time since I was in a casino. 10 years ago, before I had a house, I went every few months with a set amount. Once I had the house, it went into fixing it inside & out, a lot of plants & landscaping.
I may go again someday. I enjoyed it & put it into my entertainment budget & only took a certain amount , 50 if I felt flush, usually 20 though.
I consider gambling to be a sunk cost. Decide how much you want to spend and spend up to that amount. No more. And if you hit a good jackpot, quit while while you are ahead!
Go for the entertainment and window shopping. Foxwood's and Mohegan Sun in CT often have free concerts. The Pequot Museum is part of the Foxwood complex. For a splurge go to a fancy bar and have 1 exotic cocktail, or pamper yourself and go to the spa. Architecturally speaking, these places are amazing--you'll marvel at the expansiveness and all the detail that went into the decor. Bring a camera and take pictures. Before you go check out the casino's website to see if there are any activities scheduled that you might enjoy. A few years back I went to a book reading/signing by author Janet Evanovich (the Stephanie Plum series) At the very least you'll get in some exercise just walking around.
Go with an open mind and count it as an interesting adventure so you can say, "Been there, done that."
I tried the slots once--lost $10 in less than 5 minutes--didn't see the point. I prefer to play the lottery.

I hate that so many theaters are part of casinos. I might like to see a show occasionally but I don't want to support the casino. We went in a local casino just to look around and spent $3 on slots, but I'm pretty negetive on casinos. I think they are harmful to many. Yeah, if I went to Vegas, I might gamble $20, just to experiace the place. I don't need them in my neighborhood. It ain't a religious thing. Just think it's dumb.
I enjoy playing video poker but don't play that often or for much money. Usually $20-50 is my limit. In my area, most of the newer casinos have non-smoking areas, sometimes in an enclosed type room with better ventilation. Almost all the casinos have theaters and occasionally have concerts - oldies, Rock, C/W.
I also enjoy going to Las Vegas. The nicer casinos have better ventilation or non-smoking areas. Some casinos have a bar/nightclub that opens out to the casino floor and have a band playing on weekends. I love to play video poker or blackjack, have a drink, and listen to the band (not as loud as being inside the nightclub). It would be fun to play the tables (especially Craps) but I don't know enough about gambling to feel confident doing this. Actually I have a trip coming up for work and plan to stay the weekend to gamble, shop, and go to a show. And the restaurants are great.
I just play for fun. May play from a quarter to a dollar at a time. Vegas tends to have more favorable odds than local casinos so I often come out even or lose $20 at most. Of course, I quit once I'm ahead or have lost my allotted amount. A couple of trips ago, I won about $80 which paid for a few meals. And I can only sit for a couple of hours at most at the machines and then get up and walk around or do something else. Usually lose at the local casinos but not enough to get upset.
