And the album this song came from spent 115 weeks on the Billboard 200. I was working in an art gallery in West Hollywood, a spinoff of Casablanca Records and Filmworks. Someone brought this CD in. I fell in love.
I actually wore out my copy of Silk Degrees and had to buy a second one, as well as the Eagles "The Long Run" (1979). Who knew vinyl could wear out? I must've had a crappy stereo.
I was supposed to go see Boz in 1977 with a girl. Girl and I didn't work out and neither did the concert. LOL Finally saw him a few years ago. I didn't tell the wife about the earlier time I was supposed to go see him. LOL
I saw Frampton in 77. It just barely squeeks through so maybe it's not fair but I played Wing's Over America (which wasn't released until December 76) over and over and over.

You triggered a memory. My first real concert was seeing Led Zeppelin in Madison Square Garden.
Went and looked it up..1977 as well so that also just squeaks by.

Saw them then also. Maybe it was 76. Sheesh, lol. Can't remember.
We had to mail order for tickets. Big riot the previous concert as people printed counterfeit tickets.
My dad made me come up with the money on my own (I was 14 or 15) said he wasn't going to spend that kind of money on fake tickets. Lol

Too funny! I was in West Hollywood in 1976, too. I could have stood in line behind you at the store, or even talked to you at the art gallery. Went to a bunch of those back in the day, seemed like they were always having wine and cheese receptions. I lived on North Kings Road. Funny how I can remember that all these years later.
Listened to all the aforementioned bands in the late 70s. Also, Supertramp. I still remember listening to "Take The Long Way Home" on the way home from a concert at the Greek Theater. (Supertramp wasn't playing there, I was just listening to my cassette on the way home. Funny how I don't remember the show or even who was playing, just the drive home.) And I DID take the long way home, driving in and out of some of those West Hollywood streets instead of just taking the usual route down Santa Monica Blvd. It may have been a few years after 1976, but more or less the same time.

1976..had just graduated HS.
Looked up the top hits of 1976 and there's just too many to list a favorite.
They were all so good. Just reading the titles brought back a flood of memories.
If I had to pick it would be anything by KC and the Sunshine Band.
Was 18 and that's when the disco scene was big.
(now playing Shake your Booty in the background)
KC went to the same high school as my husband. He was a legend. Believe it or not, so did Bucky Dent.
(KC was the legend not my husband!)
