One of the times when I moved back home for a spell, I set up a mail box for my magazine and like mail so my parents' house would not besieged with the junk mail that follows such things.......my Father thanked me for that.
I will be turning 75 in December and have had a total of 29 addresses.
In 1968 I was drafted in the army and spent time in state of Washington, Texas and Vietnam but I counted that as one address.
In 1970 alone I counted five addresses in a 12 month period right after getting out of the army. It was a horrible time and three of the places were TOTAL DUMPS but at least I was not homeless.
States I have lived in include California (born there), Portland Oregon 1967, Missouri, Ohio and Georgia.
I knew an older couple who lived in the same house for their entire marriage, from somewhere around 1957 until their deaths in 2017. So maybe 60ish years in the same house! Same phone number, too, though I think in the early years it was a different format than the seven digits we use today.
Three before majority.
One while in military.
Eight as an adult.
All in SoCal, until last one, (retirement home).
Oops! Forgot one, and a personally influential one. Lived on a sailboat in the Ventura harbor for twelve years. Best home ever. How could I have possibly missed that one?
Only 4 addresses with a mortgage, and one was an awful rental while my crumbling cottage was rebuilt.
