I am relocating to Rhode Island from Washington State. I will be working downtown in Lincoln. I want to buy a cool condo that I could walk to shopping, grocery store, restaurants etc. in a safe area within 15-20 minutes of my office. Anyone have any suggestions?

Downtown Lincoln?

Lincoln has several small villages: Manville, Saylesville, Limerock, etc. Where is your job?

Default Pawtucket?

My job will be in Lincoln--how far is Pawtucket from there? Is it a cool area?

I'm a Washington State native and have lived in Manville for a few months and had a great time. It was quite an experience for me to say the least, plus the people were very different than what I was used to. I especially enjoyed how bright the winters were. Good luck with the move! Please keep us updated on your experiences. I'd love to hear them.

You might look at condos in Cumberland over Pawtucket.

But if you want walkable areas look at Providence.

I don't know but coming from WS, if you have any appreciation for nature, choose wisely where you move- some parts of the Prov metro, especially north like Pawtucket, are a highly congested, old, pavement jungle, and HOT in the summer.
