Many have talked about, and advocated changes in RI for years...because of it's size and everyone being so close to each other, have you ever considered the possibility that RI is to small to function as an independent state in this year of 2011.
It's not 1776 anymore, the world has gotten much smaller...if this is true, RI is a tiny little land mass with way too much government and complex redundancy.
We can dream all we want... if this state is so poisoned that the citizens do not want an efficient, fair, clean government, if most feel the state is "fine" just the way it is, then you can consume your entire life dreaming of a better state.
Would a "progressive" be agreeing with you about state unions and pension reform?
I'm a center-lefter. It's not my fault that conservatives are only now having to deal with true "progressives" and are realizing they had it pretty good before haha.
ANd since when was CNBC "progressive"? I think you mean MSNBC.

I think you could say the same about the US in general. The OWS are the few who've had the courage to actually say anything publicly.
I don't think many find RI "fine the way it is"- nobody on this board is professing that point of view.

sorry...yes, my bad.
