1. Florida people are stupid. (I don't know how else to put this, it's exactly what they say)
I ask for more info and they say, well, "they're just stupid". lol.
2. Florida people are backstabbers.

I mean, I've been there to Fla many years ago a few times but don't have any real insight
as to why they are saying this.
I will tell you from experience that a lot of southerners I have met are non-confrontational, those that I work with say I am a typical arrogant Yankee, but they do know what they see is what they get. I will tell them to their face on how it is going to be upfront................where is I will get a sugary sweet brush off from them telling me they are going to take care of something and they don't.

I am used to being up north and getting a couple of F Bombs thrown at me over a disagreement with services or something else.............at least I know where I stand......down here.....oh yeah we will take care of it for you......only to find out later it was just a sugary put off.

I am not saying nothing.................but seriously, the Monster Truck Jam is the biggest event in our city every year.............our stadium sells out faster than any Jaguars games.....................and I do have a problem with RI............it's weight gain. When I come back to visit for a few weeks I seriously gorge myself with food that cannot be found in our area, gaggers, pizza, stuffies, steamers, clam cakes, real Italian food, grinders..................ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

These are the type of posts we get on the Jacksonville forum

Monster Trucks = Major cultural event??

I think the very first response in that thread nails it!

There's not an option for me.

Born here, lived here all my life. Period.

The closest you have is "lived here virtually all my life"

My sister in law was a science teacher in RI, and moved to Florida for a while, and taught there. (She's now in NY). She was appalled at how far behind her students were in Florida as compared to here. And she got a lot of attitude from her students - "Miss, you need to chill" - if she tried to get them to work faster or harder. "We don't do it that way down here". So, I suspect she'd agree with your visitor! I've heard lots of other northeasterners complain about the slowness of folks down south but the 'backstabbers' charge is a first and sounds more specifically personal.

sandsonik, you should check that option. I said virtually only because for
example if someone went to college out of state, or lived for 6 months
or a year out of state, but have lived over 90% of their lives here and was
born here, they are on par with those who have never left.
