Man was shot in Warwick, in the area of Blackburn St. That is the run down looking neighborhood off of Jefferson Blvd., sort of opposite the train station parking garage. There was recently a discussion in another thread, about neighborhoods to avoid in Warwick. That should have been one of them.
Two men were shot dead in Providence last night, marking the 17th and 18th homicides in the city for 2021. This now matches the total number for 2020, with four months to go in this year still.

According to Commander Thomas Verdi, the first shooting happened around 2 a.m. on O’Connell Street, where a 25-year-old man was shot. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and pronounced dead. O'Connell St. is where the Truth Lounge is. I image there was some kind of connection there.
Not sure where on Branch Ave. it was, but Thursday night at 10:48pm there was some kind of shooting incident at 485 Branch Ave.. That is location of the Golden House restaurant, in the Charles neighborhood.

The first murder happened at Revel Lounge and Bistro at 162 O'Connell Street in Lower South Providence. O'Connell Street runs between Allens Ave and Eddy Street. The Truth Lounge also has the address 162 O'Connell Street. The 2 lounges may be connected or perhaps even the same place.
The other murder happened at the Cumberland Farms at 744 Branch Ave in the Wanskuck neighborhood. It is next to the McDonald's where problems occur frequently.

I survived 24 days in Rhode Island. After reading this thread, I stayed away from Providence. The rest of the state seemed very nice, and safe, to me....but a pricey place to visit.
Wow! You believed their BS??? You missed Brown U, the Athenaeum, Prospect Terrace, the River Walk, RISD Museum, Benefit St, the zoo and on and on.... that is really sad!!
The people on here want you to think that Providence is unsafe to visit for some crazed reasons only known to themselves.

HOLLY, this is absurd.
Anyone paying attention to this thread would know that all of the places you mentioned are perfectly safe. And that has been constantly pointed out throughout the thread. Note all of the crime maps that have been posted.
