Sorry, you'll have to find someone who is equally long winded. It's not me. I don't have the attention span (some would say mental firepower). I'm sure others here will be more than happy to accommodate your desire to debate a lefty.

A disaffected Liberal's take on the new cultural purge:

At a time of catastrophe and national despair, when conservative nationalism is on the rise and violent confrontation on the streets is becoming commonplace, it’s extremely suspicious that the books politicians, the press, university administrators, and corporate consultants alike are asking us to read are urging us to put race even more at the center of our identities, and fetishize the unbridgeable nature of our differences.

Meanwhile books like The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and To Kill a Mockingbird, which are both beautiful and actually anti-racist, have been banned, for containing the “N-word.” It’s almost like someone thinks there’s a benefit to keeping people divided.

Yes, those "disaffected Liberal's" are crawling all over right wing media crying about the "new cultural purge." LOL!

Regarding monuments: "This is not an erasure of history, but rather a better appreciation of the horrible truth of it."
-Charles Blow, NYT

Eyeopening read for anyone genuinely interested in this issue.

You really should not speak about that of which you have no knowledge.

Matt Taibbi is a very well known reporter for Rolling Stone, and a prominent Bernie Sanders supporter.

He also wrote a book about Donald Trump called "Insane Clown President", and a book about the horrors of police brutality.

You may or may not like what he has to say, but to pretend he is some sort of right wing trojan horse reveals your ignorance here.

Perhaps, instead of conducting immediate knee-jerk ad-hominems regarding any opinion that differs from yours, you should read an article and see the facts laid out.

If you can debunk them, or justify them, great! Let's have that discussion.

But in the absence of actual examination, you're simply blowing hot air.

Meanwhile, another death is a result of what Seattle's Mayor called their "Summer of Love":

Seattle Department of Transportation crews left after protesters prevented them from removing barricades around CHOP on Friday. City leaders spent the weekend attempting unsuccessfully to negotiate with organizers in the area.

You wanted to talk about Seattle before all the violence started there.

Police release new information on Providence homicide investigation

More updates on this tragic event. Apparently this all happened after the building owner confronted the suspect as she caught him burglarizing her building, where he then killed her. She does not appear to be a gang banger or a drug dealer. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and could have been any one of us. It's quite clear that Providence like most other cities suffers from a certain a violent element, that is quite complex its origins and will not be resolved by defunding police or removing a statue. Again where are the protestors over that?

https://www.wpri.com/news/local-news...womans-murder/

"PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police have filed new charges including murder against a man arrested following a pair of violent incidents in the city last week.
Isaiah Araujo, 20, now stands accused of killing Mai Jweinat, 50, as well as assaulting her two children and breaking into a building she owns, Major David Lapatin announced Monday."

Er, no. That's why we have history books, not to mention the Holocaust museum.

We reserve places in the public square for those we honor. We have no statues of Osama bin Laden, Hirohito, Mussolini, and Hitler for a reason. And Lee should have been in that same category. It's obscene to spend money and space on a statue of a man who killed so many, I'm shocked you suggested it.
