I am just wondering whether it is good or bad to have a house next to wetlands. Any thoughts? TIA!

Thumbs down Yeah, who needs wetlands?

You may be referring to places like Morningside Drive or Streamside Court. Folsom Lake is, of course, man-made, which is always a plus. Nature needs to be corralled as much as possible, it being expendable and all.

Are you worried about something in particular, like mosquitoes? It must be a drag to have slimy natural areas nearby, even though they existed long before the homes were built and it's generally not smart to build on soggy soil.

I realize it's a shame that human overpopulation hasn't caused every last acre to be covered by trophy homes with Pimpscalades in each driveway or Dittohead flags out front, but that's how it goes when you live in a state that isn't overrun with Pombo/Doolittle types.

But fear not! The "quality" of life will surely improve as California heads toward a "sustainable" 60 million by the middle of this century and those nasty wetlands inevitably lose ground to "progress."
