Consider yourselves fortunate. Along with 125 dead, and counting, here's what we've been dealing with.

I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

The cold pool conveyor (aka Jet Stream coming down from Siberia) is the cause of both the ones here and the ones in the Southern Plains.

Temperatures at 500 mB have been running well below normal this Spring, resulting in many instances of extreme vertical instability. This is the set up for tornadoes.

I live about a mile from Table Mountain. Was interesting to hear about one up there (definitely noticed the black cloud on it and rumbling of thunder about that time yesterday).

Yeah, I know its not Joplin, but its still unusual for California and worth talking about.

i was thinking the same thing. I guess you would have to live around here to realize what the last 5 days have been like, not only the tornados but the rains. I never realized there could be so much water in the sky and hail could get to the size it has here. Everyday we hear of another storm.

Really, I thought it had something to do with Al Gore or maybe the end of the world coming, just a little later than predicted and sooner than the latest prediction...

No, its called our every-now-and-then tiny tornadoes. California does get them. But please, feel free to trot out the political and religious junk.

I just couldn't resist. Sometimes it does the sole good to relax, we all need to lighten up from time to time: after what the people in the mid west, Ok and AR have been through the last few weeks we need to have a little escape. I know Ca gets them from time to time, just like the area gets snow storms. I still own a piece of property in Paradise.
