Uh no. At Sac Excecutive Airport the high was 92 and 8 of those 24 hours were 80 or above. The temp never dropped below 62 either from midnight to midnight.

Yeah, that actually seems impossible to be in the 50s-70s for all but 3 hours with a high in the low 90s. Then, during those three hours, the temperature would have to spike from the 70s to the low 90s and back down again? That would require about a 13 degree rise in the first 90 minutes and a 13 degree drop in the second 90 minutes. It just doesn't make any sense. "Fake news!" :-)

Looks like the next TWO weeks straight are going to see highs from 96 to 102, and 60-67 for he morning low. Which means Chimerique will be boasting how he does all his summer activities at 6 AM in the low 60s!

So I've made it no secret that I do love the hot summers in Sacramento. The 90s and 100s during many afternoons isn't great, but once you get into the evening time, that's where Sacramento has most of the country beat. Low humidity, warm temps, light breeze, it's just perfect for hanging out in midtown at cafes, restaurants, or at home by the pool. Looking at the hour-by-hour forecast for Sacramento this evening, it looks like it'll still be 92 at 7 PM, 82 by 9 PM, 74 by 11 PM, and 72 by midnight. By 6 AM, it'll drop to 64 beautiful degrees. So if you like being outdoors after sunset to enjoy balmy summer nights, Sacramento is the place to be. 70s and 80s after dark until you're well off to sleep. Can't beat it! Just have to punch through that 3-6 PM timeframe.

I like hotter summers too. I'll take the inland East Bay and Sac over San Francisco, Pacifica, or Berkeley for example. It's great pool weather and the warmer evenings are great to be outside unlike in SF and areas next to the water that cool off quickly. But it sucks for doing stuff during the day outside such as yard work or biking or basically anything that doesn't involve water/cooling off.

I wonder how he came up with those numbers.

Opps, that was an error on my part, I meant to edit it to say, 21 of those 24 hours were in 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. In the wee hrs of the early morning it was 59F for an hour. But weather.com has revised the low to 60F and the high to 94F

Also, note the high was 94F, but if you factor in heat index, all 24 hours were 90F or less.

More importantly, 18 hrs of the 24 hrs were in the 60's, and 70's.

Austin's heat index high was 108F, low 78F
Fresno's high was 98F, low 69F - Fresno's going on 13 days of high smog alert (so many days I lost count)

Tstieber, yes you got that right 3-6pm is your only really "hot spot" in Sacramento, and easy to avoid, with air conditioned cars and houses.

Fresno ozone has been moderate for over a week. Tomorrow is the first day above moderate in a quite a while.

Fresno has an air alert because of 3 fires nearby, they're not 100% contained yet. Strong winds have kept them alive.

Fresno is getting 20mph gusts of wind right now. It feels awesome.

Edit: look at sac ozone air... Worse than Fresno today, and for a few days before today.

Google "air now sacramento" ( damn phone browser isn't letting me paste) to see sacs bad air.

Chim has been talking crap bout Fresno air for a week but sac air has been worse at times, lol. Typical.

Just be glad Sacramento isn't as hot as Redding, which has broken a record with 25 days in July above 100f!! And they don't cool off well at night either...

I am starting to think I should ditch San Diego for the glorious weather in Sacramento.

It sounds like an absolute paradise on earth.

Never too cloudy, never too sunny, never too hot (except for those 5 minutes a day it hits 90), never too cold, never too rainy, never too humid, never too dry, never anything but PERFECT day in, day out.

San Diego's weather is an absolute hellhole compared to Sacramento's weather!

Oh my gosh, Sacramento's weather just sounds unbelievable!

Thanks for the good belly laugh. I needed it.
