Sacramento had 15 hours of very comfortable to comfortable temps today which means it was in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. for 15 hours before it reached the 90's.

Phoenix had the opposite weather, 20 hours of VERY UNcomfortable temps today which means it was in the 90's, 100's and up to 115 heat index temps. It never cooled below 90 (heat index).

San Francisco had 8 hours in the 50's and 15 hours in the 60's, thats not normal Summer weather by national averages.

Yep Sacramento has great weather. It's summer! it gets hot occasionally, it makes for those perfect days and nights by the pool.

JUNE 2018 - SACRAMENTO, Yes, Sacramento is GREAT.

It's also GREAT because 10-11 MONTHS out of the Year the weather is near identical to Bay Area weather, which means Mild with little inclement weather.

HIGH TEMPS: Number of Days:

70's = 2 days
80's = 13 days (heat index = 14)
90's = 12 days (heat index = 14)

Heat index 100F or more = ZERO Days
(3 days of actual temp at 100 or more)

LOW TEMPS: Number of Days

60's = 7 days
50's = 23 days

*Heat Index - Because of Sac's very comfortable dew points, actual temps in the triple digits usually give a heat index of 2 to 3 degrees LESS than actual temp.

Hey, where is everyone? Oh wait, they're sleeping. Well wake up! You're missing all this "great" weather. Don't wait until you have to go to work between 8 and 6. You'll never experience all this greatness.

Seriously. You can't make this stuff up. Only on the internet.

YES, we experience all this GREATNESS almost every day of the year for 10-11 months out of the year, ya know the same weather that the Bay Area gets. Add in the other one to 2 months in the summer where everyday we have 3/4 of the 24hour period with COMFORTABLE temps AND weather.

Apparently you weren't sleeping and neither was I, LOL. More importantly you are ignoring the FACTS. No, it doesn't suck, its GREAT, yes GREAT, Tony the Tiger GREAT, LOL.

Yesterday, for example, 15 hours out of the Day until 2PM in the afternoon Sacramento weather was COMFORTABLE AND PLEASANT. The those limited hours spent in the 90's is easily mitigated with the use of an A/C.

Other people have even commented how Sac's cool mornings and nights make a huge difference in our comfort level and others have commented if you don't have those dramatic Cool downs are horrible it can be.

Start of the Day 5:30 a.m., July 20, 2018

Sacramento, CA: 65F
Denver, CO: 66F

Salt Lake City, UT: 75F

Orlando, FL: 90F heat index
Phoenix, AZ: 93F heat index

Yes, you can go to work from 6am -2pm in comfortable temps and weather and using your words "experience all this greatness." See you are starting to get it. There is hope for you still yet. :-)

That doesn't happen until October in my parts. And it starts in May.

SF, San Jose, Livermore, Marin and Sacramento are more similar to each other than they are to other places.

When a winter storm passes over NorCal, the Bay Area, and Sacramento all those cities you mention will receive some sort of rainy, windy, inclement weather during the same storm event while SoCal may stay fair and mild. When a heat wave hits; it pretty much affects all those cities, a SF heat wave will be less significant but it still will have some sort of change during that heat wave such as offshore conditions, warmer lows and highs.

San Jose may have high temps that are more similar to LA than SF, but San Jose has more similar low temps to San Francisco than LA. Same applies to Livermore and Marin.

Downtown SJ is the only city within the Bay Area that averages yearly rain totals more similar to downtown LA, but the immediate area of hills and mountains surrounding downtown SJ are more similar to SF rain totals than LA.

Yeah, the Bay Area has microclimates but so does LA and you can compare to LA weather.

When I say Sacramento has near identical weather to the Bay Area 10-11 months out of the year. I mean all of those cities you mention in the winter, spring and fall are more alike to each other than they are to other cities across the country. They are all Mediterranean climates. I mean Sacramento summers are very similar to the Bay Area's Ignacio, Livermore and Napa Valleys.

July 20-21, 2018 (last 2 days)

Sacramento's average temperature was 78.5 degrees - that seems pretty ideal to me.

Phoenix's average temperature was 93.25 degrees

San Francisco 's average temperature was 61.75 degrees

Fact are Facts, you can't dispute them.

True facts, but... Two days are not very meaningful.

Fortunately, these past two days have been pretty representative of 'average' conditions.

SF was beautiful on Friday and in the low 70s on the waterfront. We enjoyed lunch outside, and the sun was hot and the breeze pleasant. Much nicer than Walnut Creek on Saturday, where it felt too hot and sticky to enjoy breakfast on the patio with family.

There's definitely been monsoonal influence in NorCal lately. The 90+ heat inland has felt stickier, and last night, even with Marine layer coming in, the East Bay felt more like SoCal: almost no wind, 71f at 6pm along the Bay, noticeably humid. Also, Ocean temps are in the low 60s, which is about as good as it gets, and that's starting to help keep it a bit warmer.

Understand your point now, the 'climate' is the same, but the 'microclimate' is not. I agree. I would say the 'weather' is quite different in terms of temps and sun, so I just wouldn't say that is the same for ten months. For example, six months of the year are warmer in Sacramento than *any* month in Oakland. But the atmospheric/jet stream patterns are. And Sac weather is nearly identical to Livermore etc.
