Our winter this year features record high temperatures--in the 60s and 70s! Do you consider highs of 60 and 70 to still be too cold for you?

Wow, you want to move to the hottest place in the country, just about, so I suppose sac would have "cold" winters iyo. We get rain so we actually have trees. I'm wearing shorts today. Good luck!

Like maybe I will be better of in San Diego or LA but gee who can afford those places?

Phoneix is starting to look appealing!!!
Haven't read any of your past posts for details, but SD might be doable. There are many SD threads to research for many differening income brackets. Real Estate is higher, but lower end rentals are still possible in central urban SD-like North Park, Normal Heights and University Heights. Just happened to come across this post when scanning the most recent listings on the main forum. Good luck w/your pending move!

Thanks

Definitely considering toasting 2-3 months in Phoenix instead of 2-3 months of chilliness, traffic and less home for the dollar

Phoenix is a very sprawling city and its transit system is no better than Sacramento's--my first guess is that traffic in Phoenix would be worse. What kind of temperature range are you looking for, UnityJAX? San Diego is about the only place where it's pretty much 71 degrees all year, but it definitely costs more.

Okay, found some articles about Sacramento and Phoenix traffic: looks like PHX is marginally worse.

Phoenix is big, sprawling miserably hot in the summer and really pretty boring. If you really want to move to Arizona, I would take a look at Tucson.

Year round warmth and sunshine. Grew up in Colorado and absolutely love the 300+ days of sunshine. winter were awesome too and the cold didn't bother me at all then.

2500+sqft...Hubby and I plus grown kiddos are all over 6ft and anything else make me feel claustrophobiv=c though I know I need to get over this it's just my hang up for now. I like the rents in Phoenix becasue we could rent a house large enough for guest and moving in mother if necessary plus keep up with current mortgage until the market shifts a little more.

Excellent schools, which I know is relative, or a great home school community.

Easy access to the beach, which I know rules out AZ but monthly trips to Santa Monica (6 hours away) would be an awesome compromise and I rather the once a month road trip then 2-3 hrs per day commuting for the both of us while working to afford life in California and still to busy or tired to make it to the beach.

I'll have to look into Tucson. BUt yes I've heard Phoenix is boring all my California connections tell me to avoid it. But we are rather boring too. Just need a place to warm up, think, breath, create and grow into our passions.
