Suburbs- Folsom, Granite Bay and Roseville if you find it affordable Fair Oaks and Carmichael are okay too. Most parts of these areas I just mentioned are not in a flood zone (I said most not all for those of you in Roseville that flood)

The areas have already been covered here, but I do not believe I have seen the Land Park area mentioned. This area is very nice, residential, and family oriented. Also, prior to the housing collapse, Natomas was considered a well to do area, but I believe that due to over development, there are a lot of empty neighborhoods now with nice, recently built 2,500 sq. ft. homes.

As far as personal training goes, you picked a great area. I am a workout-a-holic, and this city thrives on physical activity. The gyms I go to are usually packed at peak times, and often stay busy into the night. And, many people here want to stay looking good for most of the year because it is sunny and warm here 6 months out of the year. This is one thing I really like about Sac.

Most prosperous area in Sacramento vicinity would be Los Lagos in Granite Bay and Serrano in
El Dorado Hills (area behind the guard gated with the country club).

Granite Bay is really nice, so is El Dorado Hills. Rocklin, Folsom and Roseville are all pretty prosperous too. This is a great area.

If you're a liberal, you would probably prefer an area like the Fabulous Forties neighborhood in Sacramento or Curtis Park/Land Park. However, not nearly as safe.
