As the Vernal Equinox approaches, I got to thinking about how I see Utah's seasons. Now granted, I hate winter with a passion and it seems to drag on and on and on. The other three seasons sort of seem to just fly by. What do you all think of my definition of the seasons here?

Spring (six weeks long): Mid-April through the end of May
Summer (three months long): June through August
Fall (six weeks long): September through the mid-October
Winter (six months long ): Mid-October through Mid-April

As long as I can reasonably expect to see more snow, it's winter. Gag!

Today was a beautiful day! Finally got to barbecue for the first time this year. Put some ribs on the smoker for about 5 hours and played with my boy in the backyard all afternoon! Go away winter!

Hey - the long winters are what make Utah so great! Take it as a great opportunity to explore some winter sports. downhill skiing, cross country or skate skiing - or even winter hiking/snowshoeing As an added benefit on inversion days you can spend the days in the mountains with bright blue sunny clear skies and clean fresh air.

You just described Logan's weather The Wasatch Front though is a bit warmer and I'd say spring starts about a month earlier around early March. Even in February the average high in Salt Lake is in the 40's. That's not bad. To me the real winter is Dec - Jan. November and February are very mild winter. And the rest of the year is warm

There are only two seasons here. Freakin' cold and freakin' hot with maybe a day or two of freak mild weather in any given year.

I repeat: If I have to wear a coat when I go outside, and if there is a reasonable chance of snow within a period of a week, it's winter. Yesterday was gorgeous. Today is supposed to be even better. And yet there is a chance of rain mixed with snow Monday night and into Tuesday. I know it's just that I am such a fair weather person, but I absolutely live for six months of the year and dread the other six months.

Freakin' hot is not a problem! No humidity!
