There's a thread on this in the Texas forum. I thought it was worth posting in its own thread here in this forum, since the results are different from every county. There's a cool map at Forbes.com that plots where every one of the 10 million American taxpayers who moved between counties in 2008 moved from and to. Here's how to see the moves into and out of Bexar county.

Give the page about a minute to load... it's worth the wait.
Mouse around between 1/2 and 2/3 of the way down the center of Texas until your mouse lands on Bexar county. The county names appear as your mouse runs over them. When your mouse lands on Bexar click on it.
About 5 seconds later, a bunch of red and black lines will appear that illustrate the moves into (black) and out of (red) Bexar county to some other county in the US.

132 people moved from St. Louis to San Antonio with me in 2008
I think the largest migration was from Webb County, Texas (Laredo) with 1169 people.
The only problem is that military transfers are gonna make those numbers look larger than what they "really" are. (People that come to San Antonio just for 1-2 years)

Every major county in Texas is coded black on the map while Calif is mostly almost all coded red on the map.....wonder what this says about how much people really like living or working in California and other places?

I notice that the lines to and from Bexar county lead tp places that have military bases. It looks like a lot of military moves to me.

There's more reasons for people to move to a different state other than just liking one over the other,
otherwise, everybody would live in Hawaii.
I bet the main reason for that, it's that it's impossible to buy a house for $150,000 in California that is not in a ghetto.
