I must say I miss Foleys. I was in Macys today and it did not look like the upscale store it once was. It was dirty and over crowded with everything.
Dillards was nice, but where else is there to get nice womens clothing?

Nordstrom.

I totally know what you mean about Foley's, but I miss old school Foley's...not that Federated nonsense they were there toward the end. Talk about trash.

what type of "nice" clothes do are looking for? work, dress, casual, etc.? there are a ton of womens shops at the mall with nice things... white house/black market, ann taylor loft, coldwater creek, banana republic, j crew, all have things similar to what dillard's would have. and also nordstrom's and nordstrom rack, gap, etc. (all of these are at la cantera and/or the rim)

eta: and talk about missing, the old foley's, I miss the old sanger harris! that was a nice store...

- Target may be hit and miss
- JC Penney (awesome coupons!)
- Saks Fifth Avenue
- Burlington Coat Factory (clothes and shoes are sold, not just coats)
- Stein Mart
- Macy's (depends on location)
- K&G Superstore (best career oriented suits I have seen and the price can't be beat)

Happy shopping!

Some of these stores mentioned are difficult for the average height/weight. For example Avenue is too big, Ann Taylor too small.

Some of these mentioned I have not heard of, thanks for the input. I dont know Sanger Harris but I miss Harolds!

Bit off topic, but went into JC Pennys last week and it was completely decorated for Christmas!!! Had everything but the Christmas music playing. Was so disgusted by it, I left. Helloooo?? Can we at least get past halloween first!?

Anyhoo -- think it is really hard to find (affordable) clothes anywhere these days. Everything is either so cheap looking or sooo slutty or soooo ugly. And on the off chance you find something you like...good luck finding it in a small size. Not in this city.

Not sure if this is within the scope of what you want to spend (you had mentioned "upscale"), but if you really want the best quality in womens clothing with top-notch customer service, try Julian Gold.

I am a big fan of the Rack and Off Fifth. Off Fifth always seems to have bigger sizes and The Rack is the only place other than online where I can find bras in bigger sizes (which isn't what you're looking for...but still).
