You could be right! Too long ago for me to recall.. All our deer leases were south of the area back in the 60's had one in Centerpoint early 70's. I never heard of Stone Bull and it wasn't in my area as a kid.

Could be ...little cottage houses as I recall maybe some recreational facilities.

The Saathoff's families (Appliance stores) used to live in Grey Forest near the Grey Moss Inn.

Dolph Briscoe supposedly lived on the hill south of I-10 (heading out of town) before you got to Boerne Stage Road exit in the early 80's.

Don't remember exact location. Last time I saw the bull was in the mid 70's. We never got close, too scared to stop.

I grew up near the Stone Bull. We moved there in 1969 when I was age 9. It was located on Babcock Road near the intersection with Scenic Loop. The Stone Bull stood about 6 feet tall and was made of concrete on chicken wire. It stood on top of a cedar wood cabin and looked like a rustic fort. My friends and I climbed all over it, looked inside, but we could never figure out any purpose for it. That part of Babcock road was gravel back then and it was located in the middle of nowhere. It was already falling apart in 1969, so I estimate it was built in the 1950's. I noticed it was gone in the 1990's. It's location was about 100 feet West past what is now Tim Duncan's driveway.

I am not even sure anymore. I think it was out Babcock road before it connects to senic loop. I remember a low water crossing and an incline toward the loop. Stone Bull was on private property behind a barb wire fence. It was on the left heading toward Boerne. I can't think of another road it could have been on. Not Blanco--that was Edge falls! Not Callahan (Or Kinney). I was told by fellow pioneers to stay away because Indians would throw rocks at the cars.
Last night I ran across some color negatives of the stone bull. I will try to make a manageable print for proof. Pics are from about 1974 or so. I agree with your description location, about where Tim Duncan lives now.

Yes Om Tat Sat...it was some kind of meditation/Bhagavad Gita religious study/commune place.

This ALM SAT TAT at the time in '73 was supposed to be like anasylum of sorts.I remember very clearly of one night being out there seeing someone standing at window and you can see this person swaying left to right from the road which was about 150yds.looking up towards the hill.A very creepy place,it was a tightly guarded place, once the spotlights came on,we took off. There was a house located before the this place that supposedly had midgets living in it,never saw any. asoliz
