Danget! I thought it was only a 1 day show.

I guess we'll go next year but it will probably be at Lackland.

Default Randolph Air Show 2009

How is the air show at Randolph?

My nephew really wants to go so I'll probably go for a bit on Saturday. Any tips for taking a 5 year old?

Dont have kids, but I would suggest getting there early for any actual performances you want to see...take a couple of those folding camp chairs and stake out a spot on the flightline. We went last year and sorely regretted not having chairs. The Randolph show is usually excellent. Ive seen the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds and Red Arrows there. Blue Angels were the best and the FA18 just kicks so much butt in flight. Impressive is an understatement.

Just had the air show last weekend at Ellington in Houston. It was great (if a bit loud). Loved the bomber runs and dog fights. We had the blue angels along with an F-15 that did the heritage flight and be warned, they are very loud. Make sure you have plenty of sun protection, it may be cooler but the sun will still get you out on the field.

Last year the displays are along the flightline on the western and southern tarmacs, and I am pretty sure they are there every year. The actual demos are flown over the western runway; and I think some people park on 1604 to watch the demonstrations, or along Lower Seguin Road...

The last time they were in town, they brought the F22 Raptor which was amazing!!! They also had the thunderbirds which is always a crowd pleaser. The sad part is that they will not have either the thunderbirds or the blue angels at this event. The Pearl Harbor re-enactment is awesome and intimidating.

I saw a big plane followed closely by about 5 jets and I was going to ask here if anybody knew what that was about.
I'm guessing that they were practicing for the air show.
