Coming to SA Friday evening. I have two kids under 7. Can you recommend a kid friendly restaurant that is good. Not looking for a chain. Looking for a nice place that will be okay with kid. Preferably a place that has seafood options. Thanks.

The Cove, Beto's, Friendly Spot- those all have playgrounds and good food. There are others, but those are a good start.

No playplace or anything, but Sea Island Shrimp House is a family place with consistantly good food

I second the Cove, F-Spot, Beto's and will also add Tycoon Flats. All have playgrounds, though The Cove and F-Spot have better food.

If you care about location - F-Spot is Southtown (walkable from downtown). The Cove is near north/west, close to downtown but not walkable from it. Beto's is off upper Broadway, Tycoon Flats is in the Trinity area (sort of - nearish to downtown but too far to walk)

All are casual, outdoor settings. The Cove is known for its fish tacos.

It's been awhile since I was there, but they indeed had a playground.

She asked specifically for no chains. Sea Island is a chain. And not even a very good one at that.

I also recommend The Cove

Yes, but a local chain, not national. No need to bring the hammer quite yet.

I stand by my rec, enjoyed SI for 40 years and never had a bad meal. Cove is fine for hipsters to do laundry at but the food is no big deal, very overrated imo.

And ill thank you not to quote my posts lackofcharacter
