From a choice of meat and cheese perspective, Center Court Pizza does it right. The rest of it is tasty, just not authentic. A true philly cheese steak would stick to just the prime rib, cheese, onions and hoagie roll. But I don't mind the added peppers and a little dressing.

I can't judge on authentic but Constantinos Pizza out in Somerset sells a really good "steak and cheese" sandwich. No cheese whiz though.

Those Midwest to east coast states sure have some weird (to us Texans) foods. Like the Kentucky "hot brown" sandwich for example.

Hung Fung is not authentic Chinese by any means.

I like Li's on Huebner and Stone Oak. It has a large Asian clientele if that is an indication of authenticity.

I think Phillys Famous Cheesetsteaks are the best in town, right now they have a Food truck and we working on a brick and mortar. The best way to track them down is on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/PhillysPham...anIce/?fref=ts.

no wiz, and the price is a little high for a truck. I can go to a brick and motor for less money

A hot brown made correctly is a culinary orgasm.

The same happened to me during one of my trips to KY and I was not impressed either. In general, I don't think I ever found food I really like in KY (that is unique to KY).
