Just today I found out that some light fixtures I had purchased for my home under construction had been stolen. A real shame. Since the house is locked up in the evenings and weekends it had to happen during the day by one of the sub contractors.

Technically, yes. My bike was stolen, but it wasn't locked. That was from the house I rented which was vacant half the year (tho the bike was stolen when I was there).

Current CORNER house, we had some copper pipes stolen from the yard, but it looked like rubbish and was near the street.

Been in Lavaca since 2002.

We had a radio stolen out of a car in our driveway last year. We had been here about 6-8 months.

I'm surprised you are all admitting to these negative happenings. Your posts to date have been exclusively positive.

Well, when I lived in San Luis Obispo, CA, a very expensive city on the central coast, I had an apartment broken into as we slept--he took 2 purses and 2 wallets, and a stereo. We had our car broken into twice--stereo stolen both times, along with the leather seats being cut. My mom had a necklace stolen off her neck one day while she was walking downtown, and waiting at the crosswalk.

Maybe I should go spew in the California forum about how awful I had it there. Those crimes were a lot more "hands-on" and I definitely felt more victimized than when some jerk took my lawnmower to pawn.

Oh gee I never thought you would chime in. Tell us about your happenings here. But before you vote you should remember that it's not a personal crime (against you even though you had to see or experience it) to be ugly, scrounge, over weight, uneducated, not from California, conservative even though they came in contact with you.

Though I can never make the least bit of sense of your writings and your special brand of logic Ryneone, I was actually complimenting you all for your balanced perspectives--noting the negative along with the positive. I think that's a good thing. I would never suggest that there's no such crime in CA; I was just surprised to see that people took off their rose colored SA glasses.

Most people can't. Btw don't play around. You know we have come to expect the worst from your post. Sorry if I was wrong though I do not think I was.

Just because we don't go around spewing negativity doesn't mean we are not realistic. I know, as I'm sure everyone els does, that SA is not perfect, but it's not trash, either.

Back on subject. Stop feeding the trolls.
As a kid on the southside, has our house broken into several times, had my bike stolen, broke into vehicle once.

It was also a corner house.
