It seems, from the lack of info, that it probably is, but I just can't believe that we actually have a decent restaurant on this side of town that no one else has...it's such a chain hell over here. If this is truly the only one in San Antonio, it's some kind of miracle =-)
Tiagos at 151 & 410? I got everything you need to know, right here.

They seem totally inconsistent, been there several times, sometimes good/sometimes awful. Portions could be bigger, especially for the price. Overall Disappointing. I want them to improve and be consistent, I like the idea and location (151/410)

The story I heard (no way of knowing if it is true or not) is that Tiagos was a spin-off from the people who own Sea Island. When they put pencil to paper to figure it all out, they realized that they would have to charge more money and make the portions smaller. But in return, you get more of an "upscale" place to eat.

I'd rather see Sea Island duplicate what they have (layout and format) and just try Mexican or Tex-Mex. It would probably end up being like MamaMargies or ChaCho's.

Sea Island does put out a solid product at a fair price. Tiagos - not so much.

I thought that the Bueno Taco NEXT to the Tiagos was a Sea Island chain??? You think Tiagos is too???

Have not tried it yet, but did clip the coupon frm last Sundays newspaper for buy one get one entree free (or 1/2 off or something) thinking we would use that as an excuse to give it a whirl.

No way of knowing for sure, but the guy who told me this seemed pretty confident about it - his sister worked in the main office at Sea Island for years and pointed out a lot of other details that would not relate to Bueno Taco. But like I say, no idea for sure since I don;t work for either company.

For those with an aversion to Sysco products, check out Sunday's business section in the EN. They've moved to upscale and gourmet supplies as well.

I'm sure some EN.com savvy person can find and post a link...

For the record (and to keep the post thread-relevant) I like Tiago's. Me and the kid have gone a handfull of times, usually sitting at the grill-bar so we can watch 'em cook. Without fail, we usually get some sample or another that the chef is trying out. A little smokey at times, and ALWAYS too cold in there, but the Tres Leches cake is SOOO worth it!
