So, do you agree with the following article on the best burgers in San Antonio?

Find Burger Bliss With These Champions (http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/restaurant/Find_burger_bliss_with_these_champions.html - broken link)

I'm happy to see one of my favorites (Bobby J's) on the 'Best of the Rest' list, and we are going to have to try The Lord's Kitchen one of these days! That Monster burger sounds like...well, a monster!

Cheers! M2

Random place that makes a decent burger...or used to anyway--
Grady's Bar-B-Q. My son used to not like BBQ *shudder since he's a native Texan* but he would get a burger at Grady's and mama always had to taste it to "make sure it wouldn't kill him".........

One of the places in the "comments" section that I've heard was good is Bunsen Burgers. I just never find myself on that side of town these days.

I enjoy Chris Madrid's, Babe's, Armadillo's, but just don't feel the love for Red Robin........used to, but lately it's just not as good, and the acoustics in there are just not my cup 'o tea. Gotta be in the right mood for all the noise. I'm just getting far too old.

I really like the burgers at Freddy's Frozen Custard but, what makes them so good is also the reason I don't eat there much. The meat is pressed thin and dropped on the grill. It makes for an interesting texture, but they end up being what I like to call, "air burgers". Unless I'm prepared to order double meat w/chili cheese fries, I'll walk away hungry.

Anyone here eaten at the West Avenue Kitchen? How's the food there?

When we actually do eat out for hamburgers we really like Longhorn Cafe.

Bigz is a little high, but still around $20 for 2 people, and the size of the burgers are awesome. Specht's is about the same. It's an old country store with live music outside usually also.
