Does anyone know what the police are looking for in the Evans/Stone Oak area? We watched it fly near the Hardy Oak to Evans area along Stone Oak for about 15 minutes just now... It was flying with its search light on.

A. They're chasing burglars
B. Someone is running from them
C. All of the above.

Very funny...just curious if someone actually knew from news or police scanner or even on the scene...

Actually it was a serious reply. The SAPD (and Bexar County) has sunk millions of dollars of federal grant money into making their radio system inaccessible to the casual scanner listener. Trunk-tracking scanners don't do so well with their system now (but they use to).

So I guess it's the news or an eyewitness for the information...

It appeared to first fly around Barbara Bush Middle School, then around the Stone Oak Park/Saddle Mountain area before moving along Champion Springs and then what appeared to be up near Hardy Oak/Stone Oak area. Being that I live on the other side of the ranch that those communities back up to...it was a little disconcerting. I have checked the news and there hasn't been anything posted about it. The odd thing was that the search light/flight pattern seemed to be too fast and unfocused to actually find a person. If you do know something or if your husband could find out that would be great. More curiousity than anything. I have lived here for a 11 months now and this is the first time I have seen a helicopter with search light flying so low over the stone oak area.
