We got hit pretty hard up near Helotes, starting around 2:30am and going on for several hours. It was bad enough to trip a few circuit breakers in the house, which is why I slept in as I thought we were still without power when I woke up this morning.

Luckily, we have kids that ensure that we don't sleep in too long!
We were the ones that woke our kids up. They can sleep through anything...of course it was at 6 this morning, and I had to get up for work...

She is obviously a fence jumper. We penned her and she jumped out (5' fence). We watched her and she went into the subdivision next door.

Fence jumpers are nothing but a PITA. We've had one before.

Is anyone getting more rain today?? It must have been crazy last night. The table in our outdoor kitchen was wet and it is about 8' from the edge of the roof. It sounded bad but I was too tired to get up and check out the light show.

According to the SA Express, the rainfall at the airport set a new record for one-day accumulation in San Antonio. Something like 5 and a half inches! The highest before that was from way back in 1942.

KSAT posted a link on Twitter you can use to see rainfall totals from volunteer observers around the counties.

Click here and select your county.

There was quite a variety of rainfall totals recorded in Bexar County.

It's wonderful! Out here we hardly got any rain in July and August. In September a little better. But now, the creek is flowing and the trees that aren't dead already have a chance to recover!

Talking Love the rain!!!

We also got a lot of rain in NW Bexar county. Could not sleep at all that night. Quite a noise maker and light show. Now the lawn looks so lush green. Also, the rose bushes appear to have some buds that are about to bloom.

That's one-day accumulation on October 4th. The largest one-day accumulation regardless of date was 11.26 inches on October 18th 1998. It was followed by another three inches the next day, that caused serious problems.... much worse than yesterday.

That's my area. I didn't know we got that much rain! My power didn't go out because I didn't spend Sunday morning doing the reset shuffle, but we had some serious thunder and lightning. Roadrunner was out when early on, but came back around 9AM--you couldn't even get through to TW--busy signal only.
