What are the best Italian restaurants in San Antonio? I live in Austin where there is no good Italian food, and will be in San Antonio next weekend. Places that make their pasta in house, good antipasti, primi and secondi - not a place that thinks pasta is a main course. All suggestions helpful. Thanks

Il Sogno by a mile. Tre Trattoria would be a far distant second. Dough used to offer non-pizza specials that would qualify, but alas they dropped them.

Can't find a menu online, but from Yelp and urban spoon reviews, Il Sogno looks like exactly what I was hoping to find. Thanks!!

I concur that if you're looking for real Italian food and not just the gloppy pasta dishes everyone serves here, try Tre Trattoria and Il Sogno. Il Sogno has wonderful antipasti, Tre has several primi and secondi dishes you won't find anywhere else.
