Let me guess...there were no poor people or drug users in your country, right? Where do you propose we put all our poor people and drug users?

Perhaps people just sense your snobbery and prefer not to deal with it and it comes across as being unfriendly.

I'm beginning to think that she's from Austin, Houston or Dallas

It's funny, because when we lived overseas we initially felt the same way. It has to do with being an "outsider" to a new county, but eventually you can overcome the cultural and language barriers and make friends if you try.

Texans are well known for their hospitality and friendliness, and San Antonio is one of the friendliest cities in the state in my opinion. It may take a little while, but it is not hard at all to make friends here!

Cheers! M2

And we still don't know where she is from, or even that she's still in the forums, still?

OK instead of getting all defensive I am simply going to say the OP is a sad testament to our downtown. It should be cleaned up a bit. As a citizen, from the south side no less, even I do not feel safe just going downtown to walk around most of the time. I do not necessarily feel safe walking down the street either in my neighborhood either but downtown should not be like this. So we drive everywhere. Sad but true.

I agree, but crappy and unsafe downtown was not the point of her declaration.
This is a forum and we discuss our concerns here. She made a statement and left.
Pretty purposeless to me.
